Patewood Farm was established as a serene environment
which encourages the joy of riding and the understanding of the
horse. It not only provides high quality personalized care and
training in the field of classical dressage but creates a haven
for both horse and rider. A small, intimate facility, the people
and horses of Patewood are a family, all striving for a harmonious
and joyous relationship.
Patewood Farm was named for Woody Pate,
a horseman of considerable sensitivity and understanding. The
horse world lost this precious man several years ago. It was Woody
Pate who instilled in his granddaughter Suzanne (owner of Patewood)
the love, patience and passion that created this unique facility.
Located on 40 peaceful acres in Blairstown,
N.J. Patewood is just minutes from Highway 80, a bit over an hour
from the George Washington Bridge and only 11 miles from Pennsylvania.
There are two barns with matted 12 'X 12' stalls. Included in
the amenities provided are two secure tack rooms with private
lockers and a wash stall with hot water. The new indoor arena
is bathed in streams of natural light from the continuous ridge
skylight and from windows that surround the riding space.
There is a formal outdoor dressage
arena with sand footing . Also available is a sixty foot roundpen.
Various paddocks and fields ensure plenty of turnout. The beautiful
fields of Patewood lie nestled in woods which contain trails and
streams. |
